Testing the acclimatisation of new trees
Trees for Future is an innovative project that experiments with the assisted migration of trees.
The principle is to relocate species that are threatened locally by climate warming and migrating them to regions where the current and future climate is better suited.
By testing these forest species and provenances on plots of land in Belgium, our aim is to identify which trees will be most resilient and better adapted to changes in the climate.
